The Re-Start of 2019 - What to Race?
So the reality is that I have been waiting for yesterday for most of this year, and have received the positive news (for me) that I should be eligible to start treatment for my AS. With luck this means that I can contemplate fitting in a few (more) races this year - after having taken a break following my last sprint triathlon that took me at least a month to recover from.
I also need to get some swimming in, with not having been able to turn my neck properly I haven't been in the pool for a couple of weeks, let alone considered any OW (which is depressing given how nice the weather has been at times). The fact that the boys' activities clash with when the OW swimming venues are open doesn't help, so maybe I just need to find some friends to use some of the other spots around that are available!
So - what to enter? My bike and run form isn't too bad - so an autumn duathlon seems like a sensible target. I've always fancied Sandman, but never get round to it due to logistics of getting to the start-line. Maybe I should go a bit longer and do something like the Sundowner... to complete rather than compete. Or just find some local sprint tri's to smash out and not disturb family weekends too much... or maybe some other Olympic. I'm based in the Chester area - but can also use family bases in Cheltenham, Leicester or Doncaster so there must be options out there - any suggestions from anyone?
